A Walking Guide
to NoMad

Ace Hotel New York is in the center of Manhattan, in the NoMad District. A few blocks south is the Flatiron District & Madison Square Park. Be adventurous, take the subway. Or if you’re feeling like fresh air, hit the cement and find yourself in Midtown, SoHo and Chelsea. We’ve mapped out our perfect itinerary for tackling the city on foot.

Modus Operandi: French-leaning aperitifs, low-intervention wines and quiet corners — an intimate bar for beginning or ending the night. Open daily from 7am to 1am. Happy Hour’s 3–6pm and 11pm till close.

Saturday Morning: Breakfast Three Ways

  • Bourke Street Bakery 15 E 28th Street, approx. 5-minute walk

Saturday Midday: Madison Square Park and its Surrounds

  • Madison Square Park, approx. 5-minute walk
Modus Operandi: Six acres of seasonal plantings, rotating outdoor art installations and historical architecture. Walk the inner paths away from Broadway to catch the reflecting pool and clear views of the Flatiron Building from 23rd Street.

  • Rizzoli Bookstore 1133 Broadway, approx. 5-minute walk
Modus Operandi: Five thousand square feet of art, photography, fashion and architectural titles under 18-foot ceilings, chandeliers and Fornasetti murals.
  • Mama Mezze 1123 Broadway, approx. 6-minute walk
Modus Operandi: Eastern Mediterranean shared plates curated alongside James Beard Award finalist Einat Admony. Order the whipped feta with Aleppo honey and house-made za’atar laffa and enjoy a leisurely lunch in the sunlit dining room. Weekend service runs from 10am–4pm; reservations are available.

Saturday Afternoon: Design & Galleries

  • The Morgan Library & Museum 225 Madison Avenue, approx. 15-minute walk
Modus Operandi: J. Pierpont Morgan’s former private library. Three-story inlaid walnut bookshelves, painted ceilings and rare literary manuscripts that feel closer to a European estate than Midtown. 10:30am–5pm on Saturdays.

  • Poster House 119 W 23rd Street, approx. 10-minute walk
Modus Operandi: The first US museum devoted exclusively to graphic design and print culture. Compact, highly focused exhibitions tracing advertising, typography and visual communication across a century. 10am–6pm on Saturdays.
